Project Management

Agile for the Uninitiated

A fast, friendly intro to the “why” behind Agile—and what it actually looks like in practice

This half-day workshop is designed for professionals who are new to Agile—or working alongside Agile teams without fully understanding the approach. Instead of diving into the deep end of any one framework, participants will gain a practical understanding of the Agile mindset, values, and the most commonly used frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban.

Through simple, hands-on activities (including mock sprints), learners experience the differences between traditional and Agile ways of working—and begin to see how Agile methods can lead to faster feedback, better collaboration, and more flexible delivery.

Perfect for cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, or anyone feeling unsure about the Agile lingo, this session builds clarity and confidence without the jargon or overwhelm.

After this course, participants will:

  • Understand the core values and principles that define Agile thinking
  • Recognize the key roles, ceremonies, and artifacts used in Agile frameworks
  • Experience the difference between traditional project delivery and iterative approaches
  • Clarify how frameworks like Scrum and Kanban work—and when to use them
  • Leave with a shared language and perspective for working in (or with) Agile teams

I get more for less with Persimmon.

It's overwhelming to sort through all the theories and resources available for leaders. Persimmon does a great job of giving me the opportunity to maximize "bang for buck" by providing lots of actionable items, food for thought, and a summary of tactics in a short amount of time.

Great!

I left with practical tools to take back to the workplace that will improve my performance and that of my team.
