Scaling Enterprise Agility to Keep Pace with Strategic Demands

Through a comprehensive discovery process, including 80+ stakeholder surveys and 25 interviews, we identified three critical barriers:

  • Slow throughput. Portfolio projects intended to take 6 months were often stretched to 12 months or more.
  • Fragmented ways of working. IT teams were developing software using Agile frameworks while business units relied on traditional approaches, creating friction, conflicting mindsets, and inconsistent delivery.
  • Limited visibility. Executives and business leaders lacked timely insight into priorities, risks, and progress.

Taken together, these issues limited the credit union’s ability to keep pace with strategic goals and member expectations.

We launched a cross-functional pilot team with a transparent backlog, completing work in weeks that had been stalled for years. Executives and business leaders gained clear visibility, seeing progress every two weeks and giving real-time feedback.

Scaling the Model
With early success proven, four additional agile value stream teams were launched. Each had a C-suite sponsor, dedicated coaching, and clear KPIs, with regular reporting to leadership.

Long-Term Sustainability
We helped the organization establish a Value Delivery Office (VDO) supporting both Agile and traditional delivery models. By placing the VDO under the COO, we strengthened the connection between strategy and execution. Through ongoing coaching, quarterly impact reporting, and structured cross-stream collaboration, we embedded accountability and ensured the results would last.
